About the role n

We are looking for an experienced Senior Civil Supervisor to run our civil works on the ground. This is our senior site-based supervision role. Reporting to the Superintendent, you will lead crews, plant and subcontractors day to day and be accountable for production, workmanship and safety across your allocated projects.

You will work alongside our Engineering Team, who hold the technical and commercial side of each project. The split is clear: you run the works, and the Engineer runs the documentation and the contract. We are looking for someone who can supervise without close oversight and who knows when a call needs to go up the line.

What you will be doing n

- Planning and directing daily site activities and running pre-starts, allocating crews, plant and materials to meet the program
n
- Supervising self-performed works and subcontractors across sewer, water and stormwater reticulation, bulk earthworks, pavements and associated civil structures
n
- Monitoring productivity against budgeted rates and raising shortfalls early
n
- Interpreting drawings and set-out information, confirming works are built to the correct line, level and grade, and flagging constructability issues before they are built
n
- Holding and witnessing inspection and test points, keeping ITP records current, and supporting on- and off-maintenance inspections and defect close-out
n
- Leading safety on site, including SWMS, permits, traffic management, inductions and toolbox talks,



with the authority to stop work where a risk is not controlled

- Managing environmental controls, including erosion and sediment control, dust, noise and waste
n
- Developing site personnel, including operators, labourers and apprentices, and addressing subcontractor non-performance directly and early
n
- Keeping accurate daily site records and escalating delays, site instructions and potential variations promptly

What you will bring nn
- At least 10 years' experience in civil construction, including 5 or more years in a supervisory role
n
- Demonstrated experience supervising urban subdivision and civil works
n
- Working knowledge of SEQ local council and water authority specifications and inspection requirements
n
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and set-out information
n
- A sound understanding of construction sequencing, plant capability and productivity rates
n
- A track record of leading crews and holding subcontractors to account, with composure under program pressure
n
- Transparent written and verbal communication, including accurate and timely site records
n
- A construction white card and a current Class C driver's licence (minimum)
n

It would be great if you also have nn
- Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision or equivalent
n
- First aid and CPR certification
n
- A traffic management implementation ticket
n
- Relevant plant tickets, high-risk work licences, and confined space, working at heights and excavation competencies
n
- TMR or other principal contractor experience
n
- Familiarity with digital site diary, QA and safety systems
