About the role

We are seeking a talented Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team.

This is a full-time position suited to a chef who enjoys a busy breakfast and lunch environment and take a pride in fresh, consistent food. The role is ideal for someone who is already confident running service and is ready to step into greater kitchen leadership.

Key responsibilities

- Assist in leading daily kitchen operations
- Run breakfast and brunch services efficiently during busy periods
- Support and guide junior kitchen staff
- Maintain consistent food quality, portioning and presentation
- Manage daily prep levels, and ensure the kitchen is service-ready
- Assist with stock control, ordering and wastage management
- Maintain strong food safety, cleanliness and kitchen organization




- Contribute ideas towards specials and menu development
- Work closely with owner / Head Chef to improve kitchen systems and efficiency
- Step up to oversee kitchen operations when required

What we're looking for

- Previous experience as a Senior Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef
- Full working rights in Australia
- Strong cafe, breakfast, or brunch experienced preferred
- Strong leadership skills, people-oriented, ethical
- Confident leading service and working independently
- Fast, organized and calm under pressure
- Strong understanding of kitchen systems and preparation
- High standards of food quality and presentation
- Reliable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
