AGA have recently included a very rewarding new Apprenticeship to our business model, and we are excited to open this up for motivated and reliable individuals to apply to complete this 4-year program and commence a career as an Apprentice: Mechanical Maintenance (Fitter). These roles are open to school leavers, and anyone who may be looking for a new career chance.
What You Will Be Doing n
As an Apprentice Mechanical Maintenance (Fitting), you are responsible for maintaining the mechanical equipment and associated fixed plant infrastructure to maximise availability in a sustainable cost-effective manner for the process plant and associated infrastructure.
n
Classroom training will be provided so that you can successfully and confidently complete your nationally recognised qualification.
As part of your Apprenticeship; you will learn n
n
- Competency and coursework requirements for MEM30219 Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting)
n
- Confined Space Entry Training
n
- Working Safely at Heights Training
n
- Work with pumps and hydraulics, pneumatic systems, mechanical drives, and transmissions.
n
- Use workshop machines, hand and power tools
n
- Arc welding and thermal cutting
n
- Measuring and technical drawing
n
- Workplace health and safety
n
- AGAA and site-specific training courses
n
n
The program will commence ASAP on an 8 days, 6 days off roster at Tropicana Gold Mine on a 4 year fixed term contract.
n
After completing this Apprenticeship, your career as a Technician: Mechanical Maintenance Fitter will evolve.

- Have an unwavering commitment to safety.

- An interest in Technology including wireless data, systems etc
n
- Must have unrestricted(Manual) Licence or be working towards getting it.
n
- Be able to think logically and keep up with changes in technology.
n
- Be enthusiastic, motivated with a willingness to learn about this trade.
n
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
n
- Underground Mining Industry experience is desirable.
n
- Have the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.
n
- Have existing and ongoing valid Australian working rights (Mandatory).
