Job Description

TUMBLING COACH WANTED Know your round-offs from your back handsprings? We should probably talk. n

We are looking for a qualified or highly experienced Tumbling Coach to join our coaching team in Wagga Wagga.

n

We're not looking for someone who can just do the skills.

n

We need someone who knows how to TEACH them properly.

n

Someone who understands progressions, technique, drills, spotting and - most importantly - safety .

n

If you can look at an athlete's tumble and immediately work out what needs fixing, you're exactly the kind of person we want to meet.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING n

You’ll work with athletes across different ages and abilities, helping them safely develop strong tumbling foundations and progress to more advanced skills.

n

Depending on your experience, this may include:

n

n
- Tumbling fundamentals and body shapes
n
- Handstands, cartwheels and walkovers
n
- Round-offs
n
- Back and front handsprings
n
- Running and standing tumbling
n
- Saltos and more advanced skills
n
- Strength and conditioning
n
- Drills and skill progressions
n
- Safe spotting
n
- Identifying and correcting technique
n
- Building athlete confidence
n
- Preparing competitive athletes for cheer routines
n

n

We want clean technique before big skills .

n

No throwing a skill and hoping for the best.

n

That's not how we do things.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR n

Ideally, you're a qualified tumbling, gymnastics or cheer coach, or you have significant experience coaching tumbling and can demonstrate strong technical knowledge.

n

You need to:

n

n
- Understand correct tumbling technique and progressions
n
- Be confident and competent spotting skills
n
- Put athlete safety first - always
n
- Know when an athlete is ready to progress (and when they're not)
n
- Be able to identify technical issues and explain how to fix them
n
- Adapt drills for different athletes and learning styles
n
- Be patient, encouraging and confident
n

- Communicate well with kids and teenagers
n
- Be reliable and professional
n
- Work well as part of a coaching team
n

n

And yes...

n

You actually need to turn up.

n

The kids notice when their coach isn't there, and consistency matters to us.

WHO ARE WE? n

We're a growing gym, based in Wagga Wagga.

n

We're passionate about creating strong, confident athletes in an environment where they are challenged, supported and genuinely enjoy coming to training.

n

We have recreational and competitive athletes, with tumbling an important part of their development.

n

We're ambitious about where we are heading, and we want coaches around us who are excited to help build something special.

n

We're serious about technique, safety and athlete development.

n

But we're also a fun workplace.

n

We laugh. We have good banter. We support each other.

n

And we don't want coaching egos.

n

The athletes come first.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU? n

This is a casual coaching position, with hours and days negotiable depending on your availability and experience.

n

For the right coach, there is plenty of opportunity to grow the role.

n

If you're currently involved in gymnastics, cheer, acro or tumbling and are looking for additional coaching hours, we'd especially love to hear from you.

n

We're also happy to talk confidentially if you're currently coaching elsewhere.

STILL READING? n

Excellent.

n

Skip the generic cover letter telling us you're a "hard-working team player with excellent communication skills."

n

We'd rather know:

n

n
- What can you coach?
n
- What levels are you comfortable spotting?
n
- What experience or qualifications do you have?
n
- And why do you love coaching tumbling?
n

n

If you know how to build safe, technically solid and confident tumblers, we want to hear from you.

n

Come join our crew.
