n VCT Refrigerated Transport Pty Ltd (“VCT”) is a significant family-owned logistics company based in Irymple VIC 3498. VCT takes pride in our trusted reputation and unparalleled customer service which is what gives us our reputation of excellence. VCT has a large fleet of long-haul vehicles and provides the following services: refrigerated dry transport, local domestic market transport and temperature-controlled storage.

Our accounting and finance team is seeking a full time qualified Accountant who will be responsible for our management accounting function. Salary offered is $79,423pa plus super. The Accountant will be responsible for:

- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
n
- Maintaining the general ledger and preparing and processing journal entries and accounting adjustments.
n
- Performing month-end and year-end closing procedures, including accruals, prepayments and account adjustments.
n
- Reconciling balance sheet, general ledger and bank accounts and investigating discrepancies.
n
- Analysing financial results, revenue, expenditure and operating costs (including production, labour, and other operational costs) and preparing variance reports for management.

- Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and cash-flow projections, taking into account seasonal production cycles, and monitoring performance against budgets.

- Assisting in the preparation and review of taxation reports and ensuring accounting records comply with relevant taxation and statutory requirements.

- Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and accounting procedures and assisting with internal and external audits.
n
- Providing financial information and advice to management as requested.

- Liaising with auditors, financial institutions, banks and other financial service providers as needed.

Required Qualification and Experience: nn
- At least a bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce, economics or a related field.
n
- At least 1 year of full time work experience in management accounting, budget analysis and/or financial analysis, particularly in the agriculture industry or an industrial setting.
n

Ideal Skills and Attributes: nn
- Strong commercial acumen and critical analysis skills.
n
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
