The Opportunity

Veolia is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager with specialist knowledge of abrasive blasting, surface preparation, industrial painting and protective coatings.

Reporting to the Manager, Asset Maintenance and Preservation, you will lead the estimating and tendering function for industrial asset preservation projects. You will develop accurate, competitive submissions while ensuring technical requirements, delivery risks and commercial opportunities are fully understood.

This is an influential role connecting tender strategy with successful project delivery. Your knowledge of how blasting and painting work is scoped, resourced and completed in the field will be essential.

What you’ll be responsible for

- Leading and continuously improving the estimating function
- Preparing accurate and competitive estimates and tender submissions
- Reviewing specifications, drawings, contracts and project scopes
- Calculating labour, materials, plant, subcontractor costs and margins
- Identifying technical, commercial, safety and scheduling risks
- Coordinating tender input from operations, HSEQ, finance and procurement
- Leading tender handovers to operational and project teams
- Comparing actual project costs against estimates and applying lessons learned





What you’ll need to be successful

- Direct estimating and tendering experience in abrasive blasting, industrial painting or protective coatings
- Practical knowledge of surface preparation methods, coating systems and productivity rates
- Experience developing detailed estimates, budgets and tender submissions
- The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, contracts and scopes
- Knowledge of labour, materials, plant, access, containment and subcontractor requirements
- Strong commercial judgement and stakeholder management skills
