Senior Recruitment Consultant - Defence & Engineering

We're now seeking an experienced recruitment professional to join our permanent recruitment team and help shape its next phase of growth.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join one of Australia's most established Defence and Engineering recruitment businesses and work alongside a team of experienced recruiters who manage long-standing, successful client portfolios.

You'll partner with consultants who have built strong relationships across the Defence, Engineering and Technical sectors, giving you immediate exposure to established clients, active job flow and proven market opportunities. Rather than starting from scratch, you'll be supported by a collaborative team environment where knowledge sharing, cross-selling and joint client engagement are all part of how we work.

As you develop relationships and establish yourself within the business, you'll have the opportunity to carve out your own specialist market, client base or discipline focus. This creates the ideal balance between leveraging established business and building a portfolio that you can genuinely call your own.

We're looking for someone who enjoys relationship building, business development and creating long-term partnerships with clients and candidates. You'll have the backing of the Kinexus brand, extensive candidate networks, a loyal customer base and an experienced leadership team,

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and grow an established permanent recruitment desk within the Defence Engineering and Technical sectors
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing clients while identifying new business opportunities
- Generate new revenue through strategic business development and account growth
- Partner with hiring managers to deliver high-quality recruitment solutions across specialist technical disciplines
- Build and maintain talent pipelines within Defence, Engineering and Technical markets
- Develop trusted adviser relationships with both clients and candidates
- Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts and increase market share
- Negotiate terms of business and manage end-to-end recruitment processes
- Contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the broader Kinexus business
- Represent Kinexus across industry events, networking activities and client engagements

About You

You are an established recruiter with a strong track record of success and a genuine passion for building relationships and growing a recruitment business.

You bring:

- 5+ years' recruitment experience, ideally within Defence, Engineering, Infrastructure or Technical recruitment




- Demonstrated success managing and growing a profitable permanent recruitment desk
- A strong business development mindset and the ability to win recent clients and opportunities
- Proven experience developing long-term client relationships and repeat business
- Strong commercial acumen and a track record of delivering recruitment revenue
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- A proactive, self-driven and highly motivated approach
- The ability to identify opportunities, influence outcomes and drive growth
- Defence industry knowledge or experience working with technical and engineering talent markets (highly regarded)
