Electrician / Solar & Battery Installer — Team Lead
n Solana Energy · Mayfield, Newcastle, Maitland & Hunter NSW
n Electricians (Trades & Services) · Full time
$50–$60 per hour + super + OT

Run a crew. Own the day. Deliver the job. n

Solana Energy is looking for a licensed electrician who can lead a small install team across Newcastle, the Hunter and the Central Coast.

n

You’ll be the person on the tools and the person organising the crew, planning the day, keeping the job moving, and making sensible calls on site without needing to be chased.

n

Solar and battery experience is a plus, not a must. If you’re a strong sparky who’s reliable and ready to step up as a team lead, we’ll train you and cover the tickets.

What the role actually is n

Lead your install team day to day — who’s where, what’s next, what needs sorting

n

Install, test and commission residential solar PV, battery storage and EV chargers

n

Organise the job so it runs clean: materials, sequence, timing, paperwork

n

Site assessments and electrical requirements

n

Fault finding, maintenance and repairs when needed

n

Keep installs to Australian Standards and Solana’s workmanship bar

n

Complete testing, commissioning and documentation

n

Walk customers through their system

n

Work with apprentices, roofers and other electricians — and keep the standard high

Who we’re after n

Current NSW Electrical Licence

n

Someone who can run their own team without constant supervision

n

Reliable — shows up on time, is where they said they’d be

n

Organised: plans the day and follows through

n

Common sense on site — does what makes sense to get the job done properly

n

Strong install and fault-finding skills

n

Explicit communicator; good with customers and the crew

n

Valid driver’s licence

n

Pride in clean, quality work

Nice to have n

Battery accreditation

n

Solar and battery install experience

n

EV charging experience

n

Prior experience leading or mentoring a small crew

New to solar? n

Fine. Right attitude + reliable electrician = we invest in you. We pay for SAA Solar Accreditation, battery accreditation and training, manufacturer certs, and ongoing mentoring.

What you get n

n
- $50–$60 per hour + super
n
- All industry quals and accreditations paid by Solana
n
- Ongoing training
n
- Leading solar and battery gear
n
- Local work — minimal travel
n
- Room to grow into broader leadership as we scale
n

n

We’re building for the long run. We want a team lead who treats this like a career, not a temp gig.
