Staff Specialist – General Physician / Geriatrician (Darwin Region, NT) n

Permanent / 12-month Contract | Full-time or Part-time | Up to $304K + Benefits

We are recruiting on behalf of a prominent public hospital network in Northern Territory , offering a unique prospect to work across General Medicine and Geriatrics in a collaborative and culturally rich environment.

About the Role

n

This hybrid position offers flexibility and the chance to contribute to both acute general medicine and geriatric care. You'll be working across two well-respected facilities , including a major tertiary hospital and a regional center that champions innovation in aged care.

n

You will lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex inpatient cases, with a strong focus on discharge planning and continuity of care. This role is ideally suited to a dual-qualified FRACP specialist with a passion for culturally responsive care and leadership in challenging clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities n

- Consultant-level care for inpatients in a General Medical Unit
n
- Geriatric service across:
n n
- Acute Care of the Elderly ward
n
- Geriatric Evaluation & Management (GEM) ward
n
- Interim Care Unit
n
n
- Active involvement in junior doctor supervision and team leadership
n
- Champion safe,



timely discharge and community engagement strategies
n
- Work collaboratively within a multicultural team setting
n

Essential Requirements n

n
- Specialist registration with AHPRA
n
- Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in:
n n
- General and Acute Care Medicine AND
n
- Geriatric Medicine
n
n
- Demonstrated leadership in multidisciplinary teams
n
- Strong communication and cultural competency skills
n
