We are seeking an experienced Senior Mine Operations Planning Engineer to join a large-scale surface mining operation in Western Australia. This key leadership role is responsible for mine planning, mine scheduling, forecasting, budgeting and operational optimisation , ensuring secure and cost-effective production outcomes.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will convert long-range mine plans into practical annual, quarterly and ultra short-term schedules that maximise equipment utilisation, productivity and cost efficiency. You will also lead the Ultra Short-Term Planning (USTP) function and provide technical leadership across planning, scheduling and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities n

- Develop and optimise annual, quarterly and ultra short-term mine plans.
n
- Lead the Ultra Short-Term Planning (USTP) function across 24-hour and two-week planning horizons.
n
- Prepare operating budgets, forecasts and cost models to support business objectives.
n




- Coordinate ore development, mining, haulage and rehabilitation activities.
n
- Manage grade control and survey processes to ensure production quality targets are achieved.
n
- Lead a team of planners, schedulers, surveyors and grade control personnel.
n
- Monitor mine performance, reporting, forecasting and plan compliance.
n
- Provide technical expertise on mining methods, equipment selection and operational improvement initiatives.
n
- Partner closely with operational stakeholders to ensure alignment with longer-term mine plans.
n

Essential Requirements nn
- Degree qualified in Mining Engineering.
n
- Advanced experience with Alastri and Deswik .
n
- Strong experience in mine planning, mine scheduling and production planning within a surface mining operation.
n
- Proven leadership experience managing technical or operational teams.
n
- Experience developing budgets, forecasts and operational plans.
n
- Full Australian working rights.
n
- Perth-based candidates preferred.
n
