An established and highly regarded large food manufacturer based inMelbourneWestern Suburbs. The site operates a high standard production environment with advanced automated machinery, PLC-controlled systems, and strict food safety standards. The maintenance team plays a critical role in ensuring electrical reliability, minimising downtime, and maintaining the safe and effective operation of plant equipment as the business continues to grow and optimise performance.

The Position
n Seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to work day shift ONLY, providing hands-on electrical maintenance support across production, packaging, and site services.

n

This is a full-time permanent position and purely Day Shift - 4 Days on, 4 days off. This would suit someone looking for work-life balance

- Responding to electrical breakdowns to minimise production downtime
n
- Completing scheduled preventive electrical maintenance in line with CMMS plans
n
- Fault finding and troubleshooting across PLCs, motors, drives, sensors, and control systems
n
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and small projects
n




- Working collaboratively with production, mechanical, and maintenance teams
n
- Completing all maintenance documentation accurately in the CMMS
n
- Maintaining compliance with GMP, food safety, quality, and HSE requirements
n

Skills and Experience n

Essential:

n

n
- Trade qualification as a Licensed A-Grade Electrician
n
- Proven maintenance experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, or similar high-speed production environments
n
- Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
n
- Ability to work independently
n
- Experience using CMMS systems such as SAP, MEX, Pronto, or similar
n
- Sound understanding of GMP, HACCP, and food safety requirements
n

Desirable: n

n
- Experience with automated production lines, packaging equipment, VSDs, motors, and instrumentation
n
- Exposure to continuous improvement, Lean, or reliability practices
n
- Forklift licence, Working at Heights, or Confined Space certification
n
