Red Gum BBQ is looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen at our award-winning Red Hill restaurant.

n

We’re not your typical kitchen. We cook authentic Southern-style BBQ over wood and fire, serving up the brisket, ribs, pulled pork and Southern favourites Red Gum BBQ has become known for.

n

We’re looking for someone who loves great food, thrives in a busy environment and, most importantly, knows how to lead a team and run a seriously good kitchen.

What You’ll Be Doing

n

You’ll take ownership of our back of house operation, including:

n

n
- Leading, mentoring and developing the kitchen team
n
- Running smooth, organised, high-volume services
n
- Managing rostering, labour, food costs, stock and wastage
n
- Maintaining exceptional food quality and consistency
n
- Driving food safety, HACCP and kitchen compliance
n
- Improving systems and processes
n
- Working closely with our FOH and leadership teams
n

Who We’re Looking For

n

n
- 5+ years’ experience leading busy, high-volume kitchens
n




- Strong people leadership and team development skills
n
- Excellent organisation and communication
n
- Confidence managing kitchen costs and performance
n
- A calm head under pressure
n
- A proactive, hands-on approach and plenty of initiative
n
- Relevant cookery qualifications
n
- BBQ or smoking experience is a bonus, but not essential. We can teach you BBQ — we’re looking for someone who already knows how to lead.
