Senior Electrical Engineer | Sydney

The Opportunity

n

Fyfe is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and documentation of power and electrification infrastructure projects. Working with a high degree of independence, you'll apply your technical expertise across substations, grid connections and broader electrification infrastructure.

n

The Impact You Will Have

n

n
- Deliver HV/MV electrical design and documentation across a range of power and electrification projects.
n
- Design and contribute to HV/MV substations (11 kV–330 kV), grid connection infrastructure, renewable energy developments and industrial electrification projects.
n
- Prepare feasibility studies, business cases, technical reports, design documentation, protection and control philosophies, protection studies and relay settings.
n
- Prepare and review single-line diagrams, substation layouts, cable schedules, equipment specifications, and protection and automation documentation.
n
- Perform power system modelling, protection coordination studies and network analysis using industry-standard software.
n
- Support multidisciplinary project teams and collaborate with clients, contractors and Network Service Providers.
n
- Lead design reviews,



technical workshops and stakeholder meetings.
n
- Provide technical leadership and mentor engineers and graduates.
n
- Support proposal development, client engagement and business growth initiatives.
n

What You'll Bring

n

You'll be an experienced electrical engineer with strong power infrastructure credentials and the technical judgement to lead complex workstreams independently.

n

n
- A Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
n
- Eight to ten years of electrical engineering experience across power and electrification infrastructure.
n
- Proven experience in HV/MV electrical design, substations, grid infrastructure and power systems.
n
- Strong working knowledge of AS 2067, AS 3000 and relevant utility standards.
n
- Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing detailed electrical design documentation.
n
- Experience undertaking power system studies and protection engineering work.
n
- Experience using power system software such as ETAP, SKM PowerTools or PowerFactory.
n
- The ability to contribute across all phases of project delivery, from concept and feasibility through to detailed design and construction support.
n
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to complex engineering challenges.
n




- Confidence leading technical workstreams and taking ownership of project outcomes.
n
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
n
