We’re looking for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed term contract . This is a hands‑on role supporting month‑end, financial reporting, balance sheet governance, statutory requirements and continuous improvement across our Finance function.

What you’ll be doing n
n
- Deliver accurate and timely month-end close activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments, allocations and supporting analysis
n
- Prepare monthly financial reporting and investigate material variances, making sure issues are clearly explained, escalated and resolved
n
- Own assigned balance sheet reconciliations and substantiation, ensuring reconciling items are documented, actioned and cleared within agreed timeframes
n
- Maintain the integrity of general ledger data and support the consistent application of accounting policies, month‑end procedures and financial controls
n
- Prepare schedules, analysis and supporting documentation for statutory reporting, external audit, tax, group reporting and other compliance requirements
n
- Partner with our stores, Operations and Store Support teams to resolve finance queries and provide clear, practical and accurate financial guidance
n
- Support cash flow, working capital and other finance analysis as required, identifying risks, trends and opportunities for management attention
n
- Contribute to finance projects, system enhancements and process improvements, including standardisation, automation and improved documentation
n
- Maintain effective working papers, process documentation and audit trails that support quality, continuity and efficient review
n

Success Profile nn
- Strong financial accounting experience, ideally within a medium to large organisation
n
- Solid experience across month‑end, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting
n
- Strong attention to detail and a genuine focus on accuracy
n
- The ability to investigate variances, identify issues and follow them through to resolution
n
- Experience working with accounting systems and a strong understanding of financial controls and processes
n
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across Finance and the broader business
n
- A continuous improvement mindset and an interest in finding simpler and more efficient ways of working
n
- CA/CPA qualification or working towards it would be highly regarded
