Active Kids is looking for a passionate caring chef to join our team for maternity leave cover position. As our Part time Cook, you will work alongside our Chef until they depart for maternity leave / food supervisor to support daily food preparation and cooking, prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children throughout the day, and cater to a range of dietary requirements, allergies and intolerances. This is a 7- month maternity leave cover.

Key responsibilities

Support with daily food preparation and cooking
n
Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children throughout the day
n
Cater to a range of dietary requirements, allergies and intolerances
n
Follow safe food handling, hygiene and food safety practices
n
Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen
n
Assist with menu preparation and meal planning
n
Ensure meals are prepared safely and appropriately for different age groups
n
Communicate effectively with educators and management regarding dietary requirements
n
Contribute to creating positive and enjoyable mealtimes for our children
n
About you
n
Has a genuine passion for cooking and preparing nutritious meals
n
Has knowledge and understanding of safe food handling and food safety practices
n
Is organised, reliable and able to work independently
n
Works well as part of a supportive team
n
Takes pride in maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment
n
Experience in food preparation and cooking
n
Ability to cater for a variety of allergies and dietary requirements
n
Current Blue Card, or willingness to obtain one
n
Holds current Geccko Child Safety certifications, or willing to obtain
