Greenmountain Food Processing is seeking an experienced and practical Farmhand to join our team at our Coominya operations.

n

This is a diverse role suited to someone with broad agricultural experience who is comfortable operating machinery, maintaining farm infrastructure and assisting with cropping, pasture and general property development activities.

- Current Driver’s Licence
n
- Previous practical farming or agricultural experience
n
- Experience operating tractors and agricultural machinery
n
- Ability to perform physical outdoor work in varying weather conditions
n
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
n
- Robust commitment to safe work practices

About the Role n

You will undertake a broad range of farming, machinery operation, infrastructure development and property maintenance activities across our Coominya operations.

n

This is a practical role where no two days are necessarily the same. We are looking for someone who can confidently contribute across day-to-day farm operations and assist with maintaining and improving the property.

Hours n

Monday to Friday – 6:00 am to 3:00 pm

Key Responsibilities n

n
- General farming and property maintenance
n
- Fencing construction, repairs and maintenance
n
- Welding and fabrication associated with farm maintenance and infrastructure
n
- Development and maintenance of farm water systems
n
- Tractor and agricultural machinery operation
n
- Operating spray rigs and spreading equipment
n
- Planting and pasture establishment activities
n




- Hay making and silage operations
n
- General machinery and equipment checks
n
- Assisting with farm improvement and development projects
n
- General farm labouring and upkeep duties
n
- Working safely in accordance with WHS requirements and site procedures
n

About You n

You are a reliable, practical and self-motivated Farmhand who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in maintaining equipment, infrastructure and agricultural land.

n

You are comfortable working independently when required, while also contributing positively as part of a small farm team.

Ideal Experience n

Previous experience in several of the following areas would be highly regarded:

n

n
- Welding and basic fabrication
n
- Farm water systems and infrastructure
n
- Tractor and agricultural machinery operation
n
- Planting and cropping activities
n
- Hay making
n
- Pasture management
n
- General farm and property maintenance
n
- Machinery maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting
n
- Experience operating John Deere machinery and GreenStar GPS systems would be advantageous but is not essential .
