Farmgate Backpackers is one of Queensland's most reputable seasonal worker coordinators. We provide opportunities for workers seeking challenging and rewarding horticultural work, with a commitment to offering a minimum of 30 hours of work per week where available, with additional hours often available during peak periods.

Position Duties n

We are seeking 150 reliable and physically fit workers in Bellmere /Morten Bay rural area to undertake strawberry picking and packing duties, including:

- Hand harvesting strawberries to quality standards.
n
- Sorting and grading fruit.
n
- Packing strawberries for market distribution.
n
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in packing and harvesting areas.
n
- General crop maintenance and farm duties as required.
n

Employment Conditions nn
- Seasonal work available from February to September
n
- Work may be rostered across a 7-day cycle depending on crop requirements.
n
- Typical working hours are between 6:00am and 6:00pm.
n




- Standard shifts are generally 7.6 hours per day.
n
- Employment is subject to weather conditions, crop availability and market demand.
n

Remuneration nn
- Level 1: $32.18 per hour.
n
- Level 2: $33.05 per hour after three months' experience.
n
- Superannuation paid at the statutory rate.
n
- Pay and conditions are in accordance with the Horticulture Award 2020, including applicable penalty rates.
n

Requirements nn
- No previous experience required as full training will be provided.
n
- Solid work ethic and reliability.
n
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor conditions.
n
- Ability to work in hot and varying weather conditions.
n
- High level of physical fitness.
n
- Commitment to a 7-to-9-month employment period.
n
- Own transport and accommodation must be arranged by the applicant.
