RN - Sarina Hospital - Acute / Emergency n

Sarina Hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join its Acute and Emergency ward on a six-week contract basis. This is a Grade 5 position starting 12 October 2026 in Sarina, Queensland, offering the chance to work in a dynamic rural healthcare setting. The role operates on a rotating 8-hour shift pattern, including on-call shifts, with a maximum of 80 hours per fortnight. Two positions are available for nurses ready to make an immediate impact in a rapid-paced acute care environment.

Preferred Requirements nn
- Demonstrated experience in rural nursing practice

- Solid background in emergency department work and triage assessment

- Ability to work flexibly across rotating shifts and on-call rosters

- Strong clinical communication and teamwork skills in a high-acuity environment

- Willingness to adapt to local systems and protocols in a regional hospital setting
n

Preferred Qualifications nn
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
n
- Previous experience with Queensland Health systems, ieMR, FirstNet, PowerChart, or HBCIS is highly valued
n
- Prior placement or employment with Mackay Hospital and Health Service or other Queensland Health facilities is advantageous
