Reporting to the National Operations Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day facilities management of a large chilled distribution centre. Leading a team of three maintenance technicians, supported by specialist contractors, you will be responsible for maintaining critical infrastructure, managing site expenditure and ensuring the facility operates safely and efficiently.

This role requires a proactive leader who can balance operational priorities, financial performance and stakeholder expectations in a fast-paced environment.

Location: Melbourne's Western suburbs

Key responsibilities n

n
- Lead and coordinate the maintenance team and external contractors.
n
- Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance across critical site infrastructure, including refrigeration and building services.
n
- Manage site budgets, P&L; responsibilities and maintenance expenditure.
n
- Drive asset reliability, minimise downtime and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
n
- Ensure contractor compliance, safety standards and risk management procedures are maintained.
n
- Manage critical breakdowns, coordinating effective responses and minimising operational disruption.
n




- Build solid relationships with site operations and internal stakeholders.
n
- Identify opportunities for capital improvements and cost efficiencies.
n

The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in the following: nn
- Minimum five years' experience in Facilities Management or a comparable leadership role.
n
- Background in industrial facilities, distribution centres, manufacturing or complex commercial environments.
n
- Proven experience leading maintenance teams and managing specialist contractors.
n
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, P&L; management and expenditure control.
n
- Sound understanding of preventative maintenance, building services and critical infrastructure.
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
- A proactive, collaborative and safety-focused leadership approach.
n
- A trade background would be advantageous but is not essential.
n
