- Local Law Officer
n
About the roles Local Law Officer nn
- $39 to $43/hr + super
n
- Full time, 38 hours per week
n
- Investigate and enforce breaches of local laws and subordinate legislation
n
- Issue notices and infringements, and follow matters through to resolution
n
- Educate the community and manage customer expectations in sometimes difficult situations
n
- $39/hr + super
n
- Full time, 38 hours per week
n
- Investigate animal barking, noise and nuisance complaints
n
- Install and monitor audio recording devices and gather evidence
n
- Provide advice to pet owners on resolving noise issues and achieving voluntary compliance
n
- $39 to $42.96/hr + super
n
- Full time, 38 hours per week, working a 10 days on, 4 days off roster
n
- Investigate breaches of local laws relating to park usage, including illegal dumping, parking and nuisances
n
- Issue directions, compliance notices and infringements
n
- Engage with the community, Police and other stakeholders on park safety matters
n
Preferred Requirements nn
- Current C class driver’s licence (essential across all roles)
n
- Experience conducting investigations and enforcing legislation or local laws
n
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to manage difficult or sensitive situations
n
- Confidence maintaining accurate records and preparing evidentiary reports
n
- Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical, background check and required vaccinations (Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B and Tetanus, plus Q fever for some roles)
n
Preferred Qualifications nn
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations or similar highly regarded, though not essential
n
- Prior experience in a local government, regulatory or compliance setting is an advantage
n
