About the business n

Our client is a well-established commercial builder with more than a decade of delivery behind it. They deliver new builds and refurbishment projects of up to around $12M across community and civic, childcare, education and commercial sectors, with a growing share of Design & Construct work. The business is in a growth phase, and estimating sits at the centre of it.

The role n

You’ll own tenders from documents through to submission, working closely with the project managers, design team and leadership to price work accurately and competitively, shape D&C; solutions and help decide which bids are worth chasing.

What you'll do n

n
- Review tender documents, drawings and specifications and prepare detailed cost estimates
n
- Measure and quantify materials, labour and plant
n
- Source, analyse and level supplier and subcontractor quotes
n
- Identify risks, opportunities and value-engineering options
n
- Prepare and submit tenders on time, including cost breakdowns and project budgets
n
- Work with the design team to develop accurate D&C; estimates
n
- Attend pre-tender meetings,



site inspections and client briefings
n
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and clients
n
- Run post-tender reviews to sharpen estimating accuracy and win rate
n
- Stay across market pricing, material costs and construction methods
n

About you nn
- 3+ years' estimating experience in commercial construction
n
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials and methods
n
- Confident with Buildsoft, Cubit or similar, plus MS Office
n
- Able to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
n
- Sharp with numbers, detail-focused and calm under tender deadlines
n
- Strong negotiator and communicator
n
- D&C; estimating experience is highly regarded
n
- A qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or similar, and knowledge of local building codes and standards, are a plus
n
