I’m looking for a Junior Estimator to join a custom residential builder based in South West Sydney.
n This role would suit someone with a carpentry or strong residential construction background who has started to get an understanding of estimating and wants to move into an estimating focused role.

You don’t need to be a fully fledged estimator, but you’ll need a basic understanding of the sales estimating process and how a residential home is priced from plans through to a final quote.

n

The business builds high quality custom homes and this is a valuable opportunity to learn from an experienced estimating team and develop your skills across the full estimating process.

The role: n

- Assist with preparing sales estimates and quotes for new homes
n
- Review architectural drawings, specifications and site information
n
- Assist with pricing materials, labour and subcontractor costs
n
- Review foundations and identify additional construction costs
n
- Assist with RSLs, variations and client upgrades
n
- Obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
n
- Work closely with the sales, drafting and construction teams
n
- Learn and develop your understanding of the full sales estimating process
n

- Some experience or exposure to sales estimating

- Basic understanding of how residential homes are priced from plans
n
- Comfortable reading drawings and understanding construction methods
n
- Understanding of materials, labour and subcontractor pricing
n
- Good attention to detail
n
- Someone who is keen to build a long-term career in estimating
n

This could suit: nn
- A carpenter looking to get off the tools and into estimating
n
- A junior estimator with 1–2 years' experience
n
- Someone currently assisting an estimator and wanting to take the next step
n
- Someone from a project or custom homebuilder who has had exposure to sales estimating
n

You’ll be working on custom homes , giving you exposure to a broader range of construction methods, finishes and site conditions than you may see in a typical production environment.
