The Company n

Our client is a commercial builder offering a development opportunity for someone with a carpentry background who wants to build a long-term career in site management.

With a commitment to mentorship and internal training, they are looking for an aspiring Leading Hand who is keen to learn, take ownership and grow within the business.

The Role n

Working alongside experienced site management, you will support the day-to-day running of commercial construction projects while developing your supervision and coordination skills.

n

This would suit a carpenter ready to take on more responsibility, or an existing Leading Hand looking to transition into commercial construction.

n

The long-term aim is to develop towards a Site Manager position, supported by practical experience, mentorship and training.

n

You must be willing to travel to sites throughout the Melbourne metropolitan area.

Key Responsibilities n

n




- Assist the Site Manager with daily site operations and trade coordination
n
- Take a hands-on approach to site tasks and resolving day-to-day issues
n
- Help organise works, materials and deliveries to maintain progress
n
- Monitor workmanship and assist with quality inspections and defect management
n
- Support site safety, housekeeping and compliance requirements
n
- Develop your understanding of construction sequencing, programming and site supervision
n

The Ideal Candidate nn
- Carpentry trade background with strong practical construction knowledge
n
- A carpenter ready to step up, or a Leading Hand seeking commercial exposure
n
- Long-term ambition to progress into a Site Manager role
n
- Proactive, reliable and willing to learn from experienced site teams
n
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with subcontractors
n
- Willingness to travel across the entire Melbourne metropolitan area
n
