Metro Masonry is a well-established Queensland-based brick and blocklaying contractor, delivering high-quality masonry services across commercial and residential developments throughout the Gold Coast and surrounding regions. This role involves carrying out brick and block construction work across a range of residential and commercial projects while maintaining the high standards Metro Masonry is known for.

Key responsibilities n

n
- Construct and repair brick, block, stone and masonry structures in accordance with project plans and specifications.
n
- Read and interpret construction drawings, plans and measurements to determine material requirements and job scope.
n
- Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks and other masonry materials using appropriate mortars and adhesives.
n
- Set out and align structures accurately using levels, lines and other measuring equipment.
n
- Construct walls, partitions, retaining walls, foundations and other masonry features for residential and commercial developments.
n
- Cut, shape and adjust bricks, blocks and other materials to achieve required finishes and dimensions.
n
- Carry out masonry repairs, alterations and restoration work as required.
n
- Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with relevant building codes, project specifications and workplace procedures.

- Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are maintained.
n
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, apprentices, subcontractors and other trades to meet project deadlines.
n

About you nn
- Certificate III in Bricklaying/Blocklaying or equivalent trade qualification, or at least 3 years of relevant industry experience as a Bricklayer.
n
- Demonstrated experience in residential and commercial brick and block construction.
n
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and site instructions.
n
- Robust knowledge of bricklaying techniques, materials and construction methods.
n
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
n
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
n
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements within the construction industry.
n
- White Card (Construction Induction Card).
n
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport.
n
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual construction work.
n
