A leading commercial law practice is seeking a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join its Sydney-based Restructuring & Insolvency team.

This is a senior opportunity for a lawyer looking to play a key role on complex, high-value matters, with a mix of advisory, transactional and contentious insolvency work.

The Opportunity n

You will work closely with experienced practitioners on a broad range of restructuring and insolvency matters, from early-stage advisory through to formal appointments and related disputes.

n
n

The role offers a high level of responsibility, including hands-on matter management, strategic input and direct client engagement. You will also play a role in mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to the broader growth of the team.

The Work n

You can expect to be involved in:

- Advising on complex restructures, workouts and distressed scenarios

n
n
- Acting on corporate insolvency matters, including administrations and liquidations

n
n
- Managing insolvency-related disputes and enforcement matters

n
n
- Advising insolvency practitioners, corporates, funds and lenders

n
n
- Supporting high-value and time-sensitive engagements requiring strategic input

n
n

About You n

- 7+ years’ experience in restructuring & insolvency within private practice

n
n




- Strong technical capability across both advisory and contentious matters

n
n
- Commercially minded with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving

n
n
- Confident managing matters and engaging directly with clients

n
n
- Proven ability to mentor and support junior lawyers

n
n
- Robust communication skills and the ability to operate in fast-paced environments

n
n
