Midland Industries is seeking a skilled Powder Coating and Sand Blasting Specialist to join our manufacturing team. This is a full-time position based at our facility in Kyneton, VIC 3444 . In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, coating and finishing a variety of components and products using powder coating and sand blasting techniques. You will play a critical part in ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards whilst maintaining safe working practices and meeting production schedules.
Key responsibilities n

- Operating sand blasting equipment to clean and prepare metal surfaces to specification
n
- Applying powder coating to components using spray application techniques and electrostatic equipment
n
- Inspecting finished products for quality, colour consistency and coating thickness
n
- Maintaining detailed records of coating batches, materials used and quality checks
n
- Cleaning and maintaining all equipment, including spray guns, blasting cabinets and related machinery
n
- Following health, safety and environmental procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
n
- Identifying and reporting equipment faults or maintenance issues to management
n
- Communicating with production teams to ensure schedules are met and quality standards are maintained
n
- Preparing work areas and ensuring materials are organised and accessible
n
What we’re looking for nn
- Proven experience in powder coating and sand blasting or similar surface preparation techniques
n
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to coating and blasting operations
n
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and work instructions
n
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards
n
- Competency in using spray equipment and understanding coating application techniques
n
- Experience operating industrial equipment safely and effectively
n
- Physical capability to perform the role, including standing for extended periods and lifting materials
n
- Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
n
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in coating or blasting work are desirable
