Job Description

A Part-Time Duty Manager role at a community-driven bowls club, helping run the venue across key trading periods working closely with the Venue Manager to support day-to-day operation. This is a hands‑on role where serving drinks and looking after customers will be a major part of your day. At quieter times, you may be the only staff member working in the venue, while busy periods and functions will see you working alongside and leading a team of approximately 3–5 staff. You'll need to be equally comfortable pouring a beer, chatting with locals, preparing a simple food platter, setting up a function and taking responsibility for the venue during your shift.

Key responsibilities n

Hands‑on bar service and serving customers

n

Opening and closing the venue

n

Independently operating the venue during quieter periods

n

Leading and supporting a small team during busy shifts

n

Working closely with the Venue Manager

n

Setting up and helping run functions and community events

n





Responding to function enquiry to drive function business

n

Basic food preparation and preparing platters for functions

n

Function set‑up, pack‑down and general presentation

n

Cash handling, tills and end‑of‑shift procedures

n

Maintaining venue cleanliness and presentation

n

Collaborating with sub lease (eg cafe) to work together

About you n

Reliable, personable and confident working independently

n

Able to take ownership of the venue when required

n

RSA required

n

RMLV preferred but not required

n

Hospitality, bar, club or functions experience highly regarded
