Silverband Lodge is a school camp, group accommodation and outdoor recreation venue in the heart of Halls Gap. Set on 47 acres of native bushland, we’re the base for school camps, journey-based programs, family reunions, community groups and corporate retreats. Our team loves creating lifelong memories for our guests, and good food is a big part of that. We’re proud to be a sibling venue to the award winning Cave Hill Creek.

Our Assistant Catering Manager plays a vital role in keeping guests happy, well fed and ready for the day ahead. You’ll work alongside a friendly, close knit catering team and report to the Catering Manager. You’ll also liaise with our program and facilities staff so every stay runs smoothly. This is a great opportunity for an individual, a couple or a family wanting to settle into one of Victoria’s most beautiful regions.

The role

n

A typical day at Silverband Lodge will see you:

n

n
- Supporting the Catering Manager with menu planning and meal service
n
- Leading and mentoring kitchen and dining room team members
n
- Preparing and serving quality, nourishing food with care for dietary and allergy needs
n
- Looking after stock, ordering, food safety and a spotless kitchen
n
- Taking on extra hours in maintenance,



housekeeping or activity instructing if you’d like them
n
- Welcoming guests and responding to their needs as part of our After Hours on-call roster
n
- Spotting small problems early and fixing them before guests notice
n

About You

n

n
- Experience in catering, commercial kitchens or hospitality, ideally with some supervisory time
n
- Practical, real world skills that count for more than formal qualifications
n
- Confidence leading a team and running service with a calm, positive attitude
n
- A natural team player who enjoys making other people’s experiences outstanding
n
- Keen to try your hand as an all-rounder in maintenance, housekeeping or outdoor activities for additional hours
n
- Happy to share an after-hours on-call roster
