Senior Financial Accountant - Finance & Control n

We are seeking candidates for a Senior Financial Accountant (Finance & Control) role with a leading global banks Australian branch. This opportunity will be a 7 month maternity leave contract based in Sydney

The Senior financial accountant is part of a team responsible for ensuring the Finance & Control department meets its Financial, Regulatory & Control obligations for all Australian entities.

n

Strong APRA reporting experience from another global bank would be ideal.

n

Responsibilities

n

n
- Oversee the execution of Daily, Monthly and Quarterly first level controls for the Sydney Branch
n
- Perform 2nd level control as required by APAC finance.
n
- Preparation and review of audit files for the external auditors
n
- Preparation of daily LCR
n
- Preparation of quarterly tax effect accounting
n
- Preparation of and / or assistance with monthly BAS return
n
- Back up other team members during leave
n




- Provide support to another department on ad-hoc request
n

Experience Required

n

Core requirements for the role

n

n
- Solid technical knowledge of Regulatory Reporting.
n
- Exposure to Australian Prudential Standards ( APRA reporting)
n
- Ability to work autonomously
n
- Good understanding of financial products, control, and risk assessment implications
n
- Solid systems knowledge
n
- Beneficial: Banking experience preferred with an understanding of concepts such as capital requirements, risk/return analysis, credit risk, country risk, liquidity risk, transfer pricing etc. being desirable
n
