Consultant Paediatrician n

Regional Queensland | Permanent Full-Time | Public Hospital

A major regional hospital in coastal Queensland is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Consultant Paediatrician to join its growing Child & Adolescent Health Service. The Chance n

You will join a supportive, multidisciplinary paediatric team, providing specialist care across:

n

- Paediatric inpatient wards
n
- Special Care Nursery
n
- Emergency consultations
n
- Outpatient clinics
n
- Shared-care and community paediatrics
n

n

There is also opportunity to be involved in service development, education, and quality improvement initiatives across the broader Paediatric Department.

Key Responsibilities n

✔ Deliver high-quality clinical care for infants, children, and adolescents
n ✔ Participate in on-call roster supporting paediatric emergencies and neonatal resuscitation
n ✔ Work collaboratively with nursing, allied health, and medical teams
n ✔ Provide leadership, mentorship and education to junior doctors and medical students
n ✔ Conduct outpatient clinics and remote/telehealth consultations
n ✔ Support service improvement,



governance, and best-practice standards
n ✔ Engage in culturally safe care, with a strong commitment to improving outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children

About You n

We are seeking a Paediatrician who brings:

n

n
- FRACP in General Paediatrics , or equivalent
n
- AHPRA Specialist Registration (or eligibility to obtain)
n
- Strong experience in neonatal resuscitation and acute paediatric care
n
- Interest or experience in developmental paediatrics (advantageous but not essential)
n
- A collaborative, communicative approach with excellent interpersonal skills
n
- Commitment to education, service development, and multidisciplinary teamwork
n
- Passion for supporting regional and rural communities
n
