Job Description
If you're the person who watches a 45‑second video and immediately thinks “the first three seconds need to change”, this is probably for you.
n
We're recruiting a Social Media & Content Manager to work directly with a highly experienced finance professional who is building a much bigger personal brand across Instagram, LinkedIn and other social platforms.
n
This isn't a role where you'll inherit a six-month content calendar, resize a few Canva tiles and schedule posts.
n
You'll be helping decide what we should talk about in the first place.
n
Property. Interest rates. Lending. Banking. Economic policy. The Australian economy. What's happening in the news — and, importantly, what it actually means for everyday people.
n
Then you'll turn those ideas into content people actually want to watch.
What you'll be doing: n
Your biggest focus will be short-form video and social content .
n
You'll work directly with the person behind the brand to:
n
n
- Research timely topics across finance, property, banking and the broader economy
n
- Develop hooks, angles and content ideas that make complicated subjects interesting
n
- Plan and film short-form video content
n
- Edit videos into sharp, engaging social content
n
- Manage and grow the Instagram presence
n
- Publish and repurpose content across relevant platforms
n
- Manage comments, engagement and day-to-day social activity
n
- Support Meta advertising and paid social campaigns
n
- Track what's working and continually improve reach, engagement and follower growth
n
Ideally, you'll bring: nn
- Hands‑on experience creating short‑form social video
n
- A genuinely good eye for hooks, pacing and attention
n
- Experience managing Instagram and other social channels
n
- Solid written English and copywriting ability
n
- An understanding of Meta Ads or paid social
n
- The confidence to contribute ideas rather than simply wait for a brief
n
- Enough commercial curiosity to understand what makes content useful, not just attractive
n
n
Experience or genuine interest in finance, economics, property, lending or financial markets would be a major advantage.
n
If the RBA makes a decision and your instinct is to understand why it matters , we’ll probably get along.
The setup n
n
- This is a permanent part‑time position , likely around three days / 24 hours per week .
n
- There is considerable flexibility around how those hours are structured.
n
- Three full days could work.
n
- Four shorter days could work.
n
- School‑friendly hours could potentially work.
n
- We’re much more interested in output than making somebody sit behind a desk simply because the clock says 5pm.
n
- That said, this isn’t a fully remote content job.
n
- You’ll be working closely with the person you’re creating content around, so you’ll need to spend meaningful time together in Double Bay filming, planning and producing content.
n
- All required filming equipment can be provided.
n
What you’ll get nn
- $60,000–$70,000 package for the part‑time role, depending on experience
n
- Genuine flexibility around working hours
n
- Direct access to an experienced finance professional with plenty to talk about
n
- Significant creative input — you’re not just executing someone else’s calendar
n
- The opportunity to take ownership of and materially grow a personal brand
n
- An environment where good ideas can be tested quickly without six layers of approval
n
One important thing n
Please ensure you have examples of work you've completed
n
n
- Instagram accounts you've managed.
n
- Reels you've created.
n
- Brands or personal profiles you've helped grow.
n
- A polished CV is great.
n
- For this role, your work will tell us far more.
n
n
Permanent Australian working rights are required.
