Design Manager – Education Projects Sydney | Established Builder | Robust Education Pipeline

n

An established Sydney construction business is looking to appoint a Design Manager to join its team.
n The business has a strong pipeline of education projects and delivers a significant amount of work under D&C; arrangements , with involvement from early design and pre-construction through to project delivery.
n They are looking for someone who can take ownership of design management and strengthen the coordination between design, consultants and construction teams.
n The Role Working closely with project, construction and pre-construction teams, you will take ownership of the design process across education projects.

Responsibilities n

n
- Managing and coordinating design across school and education projects
n
- Working closely with architects, consultants and subcontractors
n
- Driving design through pre-construction and delivery
n
- Reviewing documentation for buildability, compliance and coordination
n
- Managing consultant deliverables and design programmes
n
- Resolving design issues before they impact construction
n




- Supporting D&C; tenders and early contractor involvement
n
- Acting as the key link between consultants and the construction team
n

Your Background n

Previous school or education project experience is essential.

You will ideally be either: n

n
- An experienced Design Manager with an architectural background , or
n
- A Senior Architect with substantial education project experience who is interested in moving across to the builder side
n

You will need: nn
- Architectural qualification or
n
- Proven experience leading and delivering school or education projects
n
- Strong consultant coordination experience
n
- Extensive design development and construction documentation project stage experience
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- Experience in D&C; environments would be highly regarded
n
