Electrical Leading Hand - Industrial Projects n

An established electrical project and engineering business is looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Leading Hand to support the delivery of electrical works across mining, industrial and infrastructure projects throughout Australia.

n

This role would suit an experienced electrician who is comfortable leading a crew while remaining hands-on , and who enjoys the variety that comes with project-based work across different sites and customers.

n

You can based from Newcastle Brisbane or Mackay , with regular travel to project locations across Queensland, Recent South Wales, Western Australia and other regional areas as required.

n

The Role Working closely with Project Managers and site teams, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day coordination of electrical crews and help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
n Your responsibilities will include:

n

- Leading and coordinating electricians and site personnel across project works
n
- Remaining hands-on with installation, maintenance and commissioning activities where required
n
- Planning daily work activities, labour requirements, materials and equipment
n
- Coordinating site priorities to ensure project milestones are achieved
n
- Running pre-starts, toolbox meetings and site safety discussions
n
- Ensuring electrical work is completed in accordance with safety, quality and project requirements
n
- Supporting and mentoring tradespeople and apprentices
n
- Troubleshooting technical and operational issues on site
n
- Liaising with Project Managers, customers, subcontractors and other stakeholders
n
- Monitoring progress, productivity and resource requirements
n
- Maintaining high standards across tools, vehicles, equipment and site presentation
n




- Identifying opportunities to improve safety, efficiency and project delivery
n

About You n

We’re looking for someone who is technically strong, dependable and comfortable taking ownership on site.
n Ideally, you will have:

n

n
- Australian Electrical Trade Qualification
n
- Current electrical licence
n
- Previous experience as a Leading Hand, Supervisor or senior site electrician
n
- Exposure to HV electrical systems or projects
n
- Experience working within mining, resources, heavy industrial or similar project environments
n
- Strong understanding of electrical safety and site-based risk management
n
- Good planning and organisational skills
n
- Confidence leading crews and allocating daily work
n
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capability
n
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers and project stakeholders
n
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence
n
- Willingness to travel regularly and work away from home when projects require
n

n

Experience across mining infrastructure, power distribution, switchgear, substations, underground electrical systems, commissioning or project installations would be highly regarded.
