Tradesperson Mechanical - Forrestfield (Residential Role) n

Roster and Remuneration / Benefits n
This is a permanent, residential role based in Forrestfield — not FIFO.
n
You’ll be home every night, working steady hours with strong pay under an Enterprise Agreement.
Roster - 3‑week rotating (with ADOs) n
n
- Week 1: Monday to Saturday - 0630 to 1430
n
- Week 2: Monday to Friday - 0630 to 1430
n
- Week 3: Monday to Friday - 1400 to 2200
n
- Accrued Day Off: One paid day off every four weeks (ADO)
n
Hourly pay (EA rates) nn
- Current: $47.83 per hour + penalties
n
- From July 2026: $51.35 per hour (6% increase locked in)
n
- Saturday and afternoon shift penalties apply
n

About the Role n
We’re looking for a Mechanical Tradesperson to join the Forrestfield Rollingstock Maintenance team.
n
This role suits tradespeople who want stable work, good money, and to stay local.
n
You’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing rollingstock to keep freight moving safely and reliably across WA.
n
Key responsibilities include:
n

- Mechanical servicing, maintenance and fault repairs on rollingstock
n
- Inspections and identification of defects
n
- Ensuring work is completed to safety and technical standards
n
- Recording maintenance activities and completed work
n
- Supporting other WA depots as required under the EA
n
n
Full training on rail‑specific systems will be provided if you don’t already have rail experience.
About You n
You’ll need:
n
n
- Mechanical Trade Certificate (essential)
n
- Strong commitment to safety
n
- Ability to interpret technical instructions and drawings
n
- Heavy industrial plant or mobile equipment experience is highly regarded, but we also welcome light vehicle mechanics looking to step into heavy plant work.
n
n
Additional licences such as HR or Forklift are advantageous, not mandatory.
n
Pre‑employment rail medical and drug & alcohol screening apply.
