Job Description

Brisbane City Dentist is seeking a skilled and dedicated Oral Health Therapist/Hygienist to join our team on a casual basis . Based in Brisbane QLD 4000, this role offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on our patients' oral health and wellbeing. As an Oral Health Therapist/Hygienist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality preventative and therapeutic dental care, working collaboratively with our dental practitioners to ensure comprehensive patient treatment and education.

Key responsibilities n

Performing professional teeth cleaning and scaling to remove plaque, tartar and stains

n

Applying preventative treatments including fluoride applications, fissure sealants and topical medications

n

Taking and processing dental radiographs and intraoral photographs

n

Conducting thorough patient oral health assessments and charting findings

n

Educating patients on effective oral hygiene practices, dietary advice and preventative care

n

Maintaining detailed and accurate patient records and treatment documentation

n

Sterilising and preparing instruments and treatment areas in accordance with infection control protocols

n

Managing patient scheduling and maintaining a welcoming clinical environment

n

Staying current with best practice standards in oral health therapy and dental hygiene

What we're looking for n

Current registration with the Australian Dental Council (ADC) as an Oral Health Therapist or Dental Hygienist

n

Completion of recognised tertiary qualification in Oral Health Therapy or Dental Hygiene

n

Current CPR and First Aid certification

n

Excellent clinical skills and attention to detail in patient care delivery

n





Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds

n

Ability to work independently and as part of a cooperative dental team

n

Commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and workplace safety

n

Flexible approach to casual work arrangements with availability to cover varying shifts

n

Experience in a busy dental practice environment is highly desirable

n

Knowledge of digital dental systems and patient management software is advantageous
