Our client, M & G Haulage WA Pty Ltd is looking for a skilled Truck Driver to join their team. n
n
nJob duties and Responsibilities: n
n• Operate heavy vehicles to transport logs and timber between logging sites, timber yards, mills and other designated delivery locations. n
n• Drive safely on highways, regional roads, forestry roads and access roads as required for log and timber transport. n
n• Carry out pre-start and pre-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure the vehicle is safe and roadworthy. n
n• Position the truck and trailer safely at collection and delivery sites to allow logs and timber to be loaded and unloaded. n
n• Check loads before departure to ensure logs and timber are properly positioned, balanced and secured for transport. n
n• Secure loads using appropriate chains, straps and other load-restraint equipment and recheck restraints during transport where required. n
n• Ensure vehicle and axle weight limits are complied with and report any load or weight concerns before commencing the journey. n
n• Follow allocated routes, delivery schedules and instructions provided by management and customers. n
n• Maintain required driving, fatigue-management, collection and delivery records using the company’s systems. n
n• Follow site rules,



traffic management requirements and safety procedures when entering logging sites, timber yards, mills and customer premises. n
n• Communicate with management, loading operators and customers regarding collection times, deliveries, delays and any operational issues. n
n• Monitor the truck and trailer during operations and promptly report mechanical faults, damage or maintenance requirements. n
n• Maintain the truck and cabin in a clean, safe and organised condition. n
n• Comply with applicable road rules, fatigue-management requirements, workplace health and safety requirements and company procedures. n
n
nEligibility Criteria: n
n• A valid commercial truck driving licence. n
n• A minimum of 2 years of driving experience. n
n• Sound knowledge of loading and unloading freight, including weight management requirements. n
n• Sound knowledge of road legislation and transport safety procedures. n
n• Positive communication skills. n
n• Availability to work flexible hours. n
n• Ability to complete a pre-employment medical. n
n• Ability to complete an annual medical, where applicable, for drivers over the age of 50. n
n• Ability to complete a National Police Check. n
n• Appropriate work rights or a valid working visa.
