nOur mining client is an international company that operates a large iron ore minesite in Western Australia. They are currently expanding the mine’s key infrastructure including construction of their internal road network, and therefore are seeking a Project Engineer (Roads) on contract for the next 3 months. n
About the Role n
nDo you prefer a role where you know you are paid for all hours worked? Are you frustrated in your current role by working overtime on a fixed salary with no extra compensation? This Project Engineer (Roads) position will guarantee that you are paid for all hours worked on a FIFO 8/6 roster, 12 hours/day at $86.70/hr + super . This position will suit a tertiary qualified Civil Engineer who has previously worked for civil contractors on the construction of road projects in the mining/civil infrastructure sectors, and who wants to transition to working client-side for a mine owner. If you are the successful Project Engineer (Roads) , you will oversee the management and construction of internal haul and access roads around a recent Tailings Dam. You will provide guidance on technical queries for sub-contractors, monitoring and reporting on progress, and ensuring adherence to HSE and QA requirements at all times. This is a terrific 3 month contract role paying $86.70/hr + Super (12 hour days). n
Skills, Qualifications and Other Requirements n

- Minimum Bachelors of Engineering (Civil)
n




- Approximately 4-6 years’ post graduate civil construction experience on roads and minesite earthworks projects for civil contractors in Australia
n
- Experience on mine site civil infrastructure or industrial developments involving large earthworks scopes such as haul/access roads essential
n
- Previous FIFO experience on minesite civils project preferred
n
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead others
n
- Clean current C Class WA Driver’s License
n
- WA based with existing rights to work in Australia
n
- Available within 2 weeks’ notice maximum
n
- Able to supply 2 favorable references from the last 5 years
n
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and DAS testing
n
