Civil Leading Hand (Electrical and Communications) n

We are looking for an experienced Civil Leading Hand to join our team delivering underground electrical and communications infrastructure for recent subdivision projects across Queensland.

n

This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who knows civil construction, can run a crew effectively, and takes pride in delivering quality work safely and efficiently.

About the Role n

Working closely with our Site Supervisors and Project Managers, you will be responsible for leading a small civil crew and coordinating day-to-day works on site.

n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Leading and working alongside a small civil construction crew.
n
- Trenching, conduit installation, pit installation and backfilling.
n
- Delivering underground electrical and communications infrastructure to Energex and Ergon Energy requirements .
n
- Coordinating daily works, plant, materials and subcontractors.
n
- Reading construction drawings, service plans and project specifications.
n
- Planning ahead to maintain productivity and meet project targets.
n
- Ensuring works are completed to the required quality standard.
n
- Maintaining strong safety and environmental standards on site.
n
- Assisting with Rate 2 and Rate 3 public lighting infrastructure.
n

About You n

We are looking for someone who is practical, organised and comfortable taking responsibility for a crew and the quality of work being delivered.

n

Ideally, you will have:

n

n
- Previous experience as a Civil Leading Hand,



Foreman or experienced tradesperson/civil worker ready to step up.
n
- Strong experience in civil construction, particularly underground electrical, communications or utility infrastructure .
n
- Experience working to Energex and/or Ergon Energy standards .
n
- Proven trenching, conduit laying, pit installation and backfilling experience.
n
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings.
n
- Experience with Rate 2 and Rate 3 lighting infrastructure would be highly regarded.
n
- Good leadership and communication skills.
n
- A strong focus on safety, quality and productivity.
n
- Current HR driver's licence .
n
- Willingness to work away when required.
n

Candidates with strong civil electrical infrastructure or pipe laying experience are encouraged to apply , including those looking to take the next step into a Leading Hand position.
