Our client is seeking an exceptional Naval Architect to join their team based in NSW.

The client is a frontrunner in the Maritime space, where they provide engineering support to the Australian Defence sector.
n
The Naval Architect will be responsible for undertaking technical investigations, delivering technical reports and working within a multi-disciplined engineering team.
The role: n
n
- Provide a high level of engineering technical competence based on relevant experience and knowledge.
n
- Provide experience and technical knowledge of functional and detailed design related to Naval Architecture and Outfitting.
n
- Undertake technical investigations, root cause analysis and solution identification.
n
- Deliver technical reports and technical documentation in accordance with customer standards.
n
- Work effectively within the broader Engineering Team to engage with different engineering disciplines in the development of new naval ship system designs.
n
- Plan and coordinate assigned engineering projects from concept through to delivery,
including the development of project plans, schedule and engagement of internal and external stakeholders.
n
EXPERIENCE nn
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
n
- Familiarity with Naval Architecture, Marine platform Designs, Outfitting engineering.
n
- Familiarity with fundamental structural analysis concepts.
n
- High level of skill in Standard Computing Packages.
n
- Ability to understand and apply relevant Australian Standards, Classification Society and IMO requirements.
n
- Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) packages.
n
- Capacity to provide technical assessment based on engineering calculations.
n
n
Candidates must have experience working alongside Defence engineering teams. This role requires candidates who will take a pragmatic approach, have a problem solving ability and a positive communication style both with internal and external stakeholders.
