JTA is an established Australian workplace consultancy with more than 35 years’ experience supporting clients with asbestos, hazardous materials, occupational hygiene, noise and broader workplace health and safety services.

A significant part of our work is with large property portfolios , where we help clients manage asbestos and hazardous materials consistently across multiple sites. This includes ongoing audit programs, register updates, priority reviews, monitoring, clearances and project support across portfolios ranging from individual facilities through to large multi-site programs.

We work across commercial, industrial, infrastructure, retail and property environments, giving our consultants exposure to a broad mix of projects rather than a narrow stream of repetitive work.

About the role

JTA Health, Safety & Noise Specialists is looking for an experienced Asbestos / Hazardous Materials Consultant to join our team.

We’re looking for someone with at least 3 years’ consulting experience who can confidently undertake fieldwork, prepare reports, deal with clients and manage their own projects.

The role can be structured at Senior or Principal level depending on your experience. We’re more interested in finding the right person than fitting someone into a rigid position description.

The role is being advertised in NSW,



but we are equally happy for the right person to be based in Sydney or Melbourne .

What you’ll be doing

You’ll work across asbestos and hazardous materials projects including surveys and audits, refurbishment and demolition surveys, air monitoring and clearances, registers and management plans, sampling, reporting and client liaison.

More experienced candidates will also have the opportunity to undertake technical review, mentor other consultants and help develop our asbestos and HAZMAT services.

About you

We’re looking for:

- 3+ years’ asbestos / HAZMAT consulting experience

- Strong asbestos surveying and reporting experience

- Experience with air monitoring and clearance inspections

- Good report writing and client communication skills

- Ability to manage your own projects and workload

- Current Australian driver’s licence

- Relevant technical qualification

A NSW Licensed Asbestos Assessor (LAA) is highly regarded but not essential for the right person.
