We’re currently recruiting for a Control Systems Engineer to join a global engineering and manufacturing organisation specialising in rail vehicle HVAC and thermal management systems.

This is a full time, permanent position based in Western Sydney. The role is focused on the design, development, testing and maintenance of control software for complex electromechanical systems, with a strong emphasis on PLC programming and industrial control systems.
Roles and Responsibilities n
n
- Design, develop and implement PLC software and control algorithms for industrial electromechanical systems.
n
- Undertake system functional analysis and develop traceable software requirements and specifications.
n
- Perform software and system verification and validation, including bench testing, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and site testing.
n
- Troubleshoot PLC, software and equipment faults, undertake root cause analysis and support ongoing software maintenance.
n
- Support software documentation, configuration management, defect tracking and continuous improvement activities while working across local and international engineering teams.
n
Skills and Requirements nn
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
n
- ~5-10 years' hands‑on experience in PLC programming and industrial control systems.
n
- Experience with IEC 61131 programming languages such as Structured Text, Function Block Diagrams and/or Sequential Function Charts.
n
- Experience developing and testing control software for electromechanical equipment or industrial systems.
n
- Experience across requirements analysis, software design, testing, validation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
