You will be working within a major financial services environment, supporting the quality and performance of business‑critical card payment and financial transaction systems.

Role Overview n

We are seeking an experienced Card Payments Test Analyst with strong knowledge of the card payments domain and payment transaction lifecycle.

n

The successful candidate will be responsible for testing applications that process card payments and financial transactions, including validating financial messages, APIs, database records, and end‑to‑end transaction flows.

n

In addition to functional testing, the position requires experience executing performance tests, analysing results, identifying system bottlenecks, and producing clear performance testing reports and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities n

n
- Plan, design, and execute testing across card payment and financial transaction systems
n
- Validate end‑to‑end payment transaction flows across integrated applications
n
- Interpret and validate financial messages throughout the transaction lifecycle
n
- Confirm that financial transactions are processed accurately across applications and downstream systems
n




- Test APIs and integrations within distributed system environments
n
- Perform SQL queries and database validations to confirm transaction accuracy and data integrity
n
- Develop and maintain functional, integration, system, regression, and performance test scenarios
n
- Execute performance tests using LoadRunner or equivalent performance testing tools
n
- Monitor test execution and analyse performance results, response times, throughput, and system behaviour
n
- Identify performance trends, constraints, bottlenecks, and potential system issues
n
- Prepare performance test reports documenting results, observations, risks, and recommendations
n
- Record, manage, and retest defects through to resolution
n
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, product teams, and other technical stakeholders
n
- Contribute to test planning, test estimation, risk management, and quality assurance activities
n
- Ensure testing aligns with project requirements, quality standards, and delivery timelines
n

Required Skills & Experience nn
- Strong understanding of the card payments domain
n
- Good knowledge of the payment transaction lifecycle
n
- Experience testing applications involving payment processing or financial transaction systems
n




- Strong understanding of financial transactions and transaction processing
n
- Ability to interpret and validate financial message structures
n
- Experience validating message content, transaction status, and end‑to‑end processing outcomes
n
- Hands‑on experience testing APIs and distributed systems
n
- Strong SQL skills and experience performing database and backend validations
n
- Experience developing and executing detailed test cases and test scenarios
n
- Understanding of integration, system, regression, and end‑to‑end testing
n
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
n
- Ability to investigate defects across multiple applications and integrated systems
n
- Transparent written and verbal communication skills
n
- Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary delivery teams
n

Performance Testing Experience nn
- Good understanding of performance testing concepts, methodologies, and testing approaches
n
- Experience executing performance tests using LoadRunner or an equivalent tool
n
- Ability to analyse performance test results and identify trends, bottlenecks, constraints, and system issues
n
- Experience reviewing system performance against expected response times and transaction volumes
n
- Ability to clearly document performance test results, findings, and observations
n
- Experience preparing professional performance testing reports
n
- Ability to provide practical recommendations based on performance testing outcomes
