About the role n

Central Victorian Welding and Fabrication (CVWF) is seeking an experienced Maintenance/Mechanical Fitter/Boilermaker to join our afternoon shift team in Axedale.

n

This position will start on a casual basis, with the potential to move into full-time employment for the right person.

n

You’ll undertake a variety of maintenance, mechanical repair and fabrication work, helping keep equipment operating safely and efficiently. This is a hands‑on role suited to a reliable tradesperson who takes pride in their workmanship and enjoys solving problems.

Key responsibilities n

- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and mechanical equipment.
n
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
n
- Complete preventative maintenance checks and safety inspections.
n
- Fabricate, assemble and install components using appropriate tools and welding techniques.
n
- Keep accurate records of maintenance completed and parts used.
n
- Work safely and follow company procedures and workplace safety requirements.
n
- Work with the team to meet production schedules and client requirements.
n
- Identify and report equipment issues and opportunities for improvement.
n





What we’re looking for nn
- A recognised trade qualification in mechanical fitting, boilermaking or a related discipline.
n
- Proven experience in maintenance, mechanical repairs or boilermaking within a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
n
- Confidence using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring equipment.
n
- Sound welding knowledge and the ability to carry out welding tasks as required.
n
- Strong fault‑finding skills and attention to detail.
n
- The ability to work independently and contribute to a team.
n
- A reliable approach to attendance, safety and workmanship.
n
- Availability to work afternoon shift.
n
- Relevant tickets and training, including confined space, working at heights and forklift operation.
