An prospect exists for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy supporting major resources and minerals processing projects. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will take a lead role in the delivery of studies, FEED and detailed design packages across a range of complex mining and infrastructure projects.n
nThis is a Brisbane-based position offering flexible hybrid working arrangements and exposure to high-profile projects within the mining, minerals and metals sector.n
Key Responsibilities n

n
- Lead mechanical engineering activities from concept development through to detailed design and project delivery.
n
- Prepare and review mechanical design calculations, specifications, datasheets and technical reports.
n
- Develop equipment specifications and procurement packages for major plant and infrastructure equipment.
n
- Coordinate package engineering activities and manage interactions with equipment vendors.
n
- Review equipment layouts, plant arrangements and integrated design solutions.
n
- Support HAZOPs, design reviews, constructability reviews and model reviews.
n
- Identify and mitigate technical risks while ensuring quality and compliance with industry standards.
n
- Provide technical input into procurement activities including bid evaluations and vendor documentation reviews.
n
- Track engineering progress against project schedules and budgets.
n
- Collaborate closely with process, piping, civil, structural,



electrical and instrumentation teams.
n
- Mentor and support junior and developing engineers.
n

About You n

n
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
n
- Mandatory RPEQ registration.
n
- CPEng or equivalent professional registration highly regarded.
n
- 10+ years' experience in mechanical engineering within mining, minerals and metals projects.
n
- Proven experience delivering studies, FEED and detailed design phases within EPCM environments.
n
- Strong background in one or more of the following:n n
- Mineral processing facilities
n
- Hydrometallurgical or pyrometallurgical plants
n
- Comminution and screening systems
n
- Bulk materials handling and mobile equipment
n
- Mining infrastructure and associated facilities
n
- Water, wastewater, slurry and pipeline systems
n
- Major equipment procurement and package engineering
n

Technical Expertise n

n
- Mechanical equipment design and specification.
n
- Bulk materials handling systems.
n
- Pumps, tanks, pressure vessels and process equipment.
n
- Vendor management and procurement support.
n
- Equipment layout development and plant integration.
n
- Knowledge of Australian and international engineering codes and standards.
n
