Key Responsibilities n

As a Precast Steel Fixer, you will play a critical role in manufacturing high-quality structural concrete components in an indoor workshop setting. Your day-to-day duties will include:

Steel Fixing & Reinforcement: Reading structural drawings/plans to cut, bend, position, and tie steel rebar and mesh into precast moulds.

n
- n

Specialised Prep: Working with both traditional steel rebar and fiberglass rebar (GFRP) system preparation.

n
- n

Mould Preparation: Ensuring reinforcing cages and mesh are correctly seated, secured, and aligned before concrete pours.

n
- n

Team Collaboration: Assisting precast production teams during pouring and vibrating phases to ensure cage stability.

n
- n

Safety & Equipment: Operating hand/power tools, tie wire guns, and overhead gantry cranes (site dependent) strictly adhering to WHS standards.

n
- n

Quality Assurance: Inspecting finished cages and rebar setups to ensure compliance with quality specifications.

Top Industry Pay: Competitive above-award hourly rates ranging from $37.50 to $45.00 per hour (based on experience), plus overtime, penalty rates, and daily allowances.

What We Need From You nn
- n

Experience: Proven experience in steel fixing within a precast yard, civil engineering, or commercial construction setting.

n
- n

Skills: Strong proficiency in tying rebar, placing mesh, using tie wire guns, and reading structural precast drawings.

n
- n

Licences & Transport: Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable transport to get to site daily.

n
- n

Ticket/Certifications: High Risk Work Licences (e.g., Overhead Gantry Crane or Dogging) are highly regarded but not essential.

- n

Work Ethic: Strong commitment to workplace health & safety, high attention to detail, excellent punctuality, and a solid team attitude.
