Female Disability Support Worker | Palmview

We’re seeking an active, reliable and experienced female Support Worker to provide support to a young man living in Palmview.

The participant is non-verbal and requires support with transfers, personal care, mobility and daily activities. He is a cheeky, social young man who loves attention and enjoys interacting with the people around him.

This role would suit someone who enjoys being active, getting out into the community and building a genuine connection with the person they support.

What could your day look like?

You’ll provide support with personal care, mobility, transfers, community access and everyday activities.

The participant uses a wheelchair and requires assistance with transfers. You’ll also need to be physically capable of safely lifting and handling his wheelchair in and out of a vehicle.

He enjoys:

- Going to the beach
- Spending time around animals
- Throwing and playing with a ball
- Watching his favourite TV program
- Getting out into the community
- Attention and social interaction

Supporting two clients

At times, the role may involve supporting two clients at the same time.

The second client requires support with personal care, including showering, as well as meal preparation and daily activities.

You’ll need to be comfortable supporting both clients when required while maintaining their safety, dignity and individual routines.

Your role may include:

- Supporting personal care and daily routines
- Assisting with transfers and wheelchair mobility
- Safely lifting and handling a wheelchair in and out of a vehicle
- Supporting community access and appointments
- Meal preparation




- Supporting with showering and personal care
- Supporting two clients when required
- Following individual support plans and safety requirements
- Building positive relationships with the clients
- Keeping clients engaged and involved in their day

Shift Availability
- 6:00am – 2:00pm
- 2:00pm – 10:00pm
- 2:00pm – 6:00am Sleepover ($140 sleepover allowance)
- 10:00pm – 6:00am Active/Awake

We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous disability support experience
- Is confident providing personal care
- Has experience supporting people who use wheelchairs
- Is physically capable of safely handling a wheelchair and assisting with transfers
- Is comfortable supporting clients in the community
- Can confidently support two clients when required
- Is reliable, patient and energetic
- Enjoys building genuine relationships with the people they support
- Is comfortable working with non-verbal clients and understanding individual communication needs
