Troocoo is partnering with a Queensland Government organisation to recruit an experienced Senior Finance Officer (AO5) for a temporary contract commencing ASAP through to 18 December 2026.

Working within a small finance team, you will contribute across the finance function, taking ownership of accounts payable and receivable processes, supporting month-end reporting and financial audit activities, and providing supervision and guidance to finance officers.

n

This is an office-based role in Brisbane CBD, offering $69–$75 per hour + 12% superannuation.

nKey responsibilities n
n

- Coordinate accounts payable, accounts receivable and purchase requisition processes.
n
n
- Manage corporate cards, petty cash and cost centre administration.
n
n
- Prepare monthly expenditure, revenue and trial balance reports.
n
n
- Coordinate monthly balance sheet reconciliations and review transactions for accuracy and compliance.
n
n
- Support financial audit activities and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.
n
n
- Respond to finance queries and liaise with internal stakeholders and shared services.
n
n
- Ensure financial processes comply with relevant legislation,



policies and procedures.
n
n
- Assist with low-value, low-risk procurement activities.
n
n
- Provide supervision, training and support to temporary and casual finance staff as required.
n
n

You will bring practical finance experience, robust attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities within a small team.

n
n

You will also demonstrate:

n
n

n
n
- Experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and month-end reporting.
n
n
- Sound knowledge of financial controls, policies and procedures.
n
n
- Strong communication skills and confidence resolving stakeholder queries.
n
n
- The ability to work independently and contribute to team outcomes.
n
n
- Experience supporting or supervising finance staff.
n
n

n

Qualifications in Finance, Accounting or Business , and procurement certification, will be highly regarded but are not mandatory.

n
n

The successful candidate will be required to complete relevant pre-employment checks and meet the organisation’s political neutrality requirements.
