Senior Systems Engineer – Requirements Management

Canberra | NV2 Clearance Required | Long-term Contract Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer with strong requirements management expertise to support a complex, high-priority technology and systems engineering program within a secure Commonwealth environment.

n

This opportunity involves working across requirements engineering, systems design and cloud-based technology, contributing to the development of integrated capabilities that support critical operational systems.

n

The Prospect

n

Working within a multidisciplinary technical environment, you will help define, manage and validate system requirements, ensuring they are accurately translated into practical engineering and design outcomes.

n

The role requires someone who can work confidently across technical stakeholders, system architectures and delivery teams, maintaining alignment between operational needs, engineering requirements and solution design.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Lead requirements definition, analysis, documentation and ongoing management throughout the systems engineering lifecycle.
n
- Support high-level and detailed system design, particularly within cloud-based environments.
n
- Maintain requirements traceability and alignment with system architecture, design and integration activities.
n
- Work with technical teams and stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve inconsistencies and support engineering decisions.
n
- Apply relevant architecture, interoperability and engineering standards to support system development and integration.
n

What We're Looking For

n

n
- Substantial systems engineering experience, with demonstrated expertise in requirements management.
n




- Practical experience supporting high-level and detailed design in cloud environments.
n
- Familiarity with Defence architectures, interoperability standards and complex integrated systems.
n
- Strong analytical, technical documentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
- Experience applying structured systems engineering methodologies, tools and techniques.
n

Highly Desirable

n

n
- Experience delivering ICT or engineering capabilities within Defence or other complex government environments.
n
- An accredited engineering degree or equivalent systems engineering qualification.
n
- Experience with systems modelling, analysis, integration and simulation.
n
- Familiarity with Defence capability delivery, acquisition or sustainment processes, particularly within CASG.
n
- Understanding of Agile or Scrum delivery methodologies.
n

Security Clearance

n

Applicants must hold a current AGSVA NV2 security clearance as a minimum. Positive Vetting (PV) is highly desirable.
