Roadhouse Manager – Remote Northern Territory
$85,000–$95,000 + FREE Accommodation & Meals

Are you a hands-on hospitality allrounder who loves variety, thrives in a small team and isn't afraid to roll up your sleeves and get stuck into whatever needs doing?

We're looking for an experienced, practical and versatile Roadhouse Manager to take the reins of a well-established, multi-faceted roadhouse operation in the remote Northern Territory.

This is definitely not a sit-behind-a-desk management role! With a small team and plenty happening throughout the day, you'll be involved in all areas of the business from jumping into the kitchen and helping out on the front counter to managing office duties, assisting with housekeeping and keeping the day-to-day operations running smoothly.

No two days are the same, so we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys the variety of remote hospitality, can confidently switch between different tasks and is just as comfortable cooking on the grill as they are managing staff, serving customers or handling the paperwork.

You'll need to be resourceful, adaptable, organised and happy to lead by example. Life in the NT outback also means extreme heat, a remote lifestyle and the occasional unexpected challenge, so a positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to pitch in wherever needed are essential.

If you're a true hospitality allrounder who enjoys being part of a small, hardworking team and loves a role where you can do a bit of everything, this could be the perfect outback opportunity!

The Business

The roadhouse offers licensed bar and dining facilities,

accommodation, fuel, retail and convenience items, servicing tourists, commercial travellers, transport operators and the local community.

With approximately 25 accommodation rooms, including motel rooms and dongas, this is a busy, diverse operation requiring a manager who is comfortable moving between departments and supporting the team wherever needed.

What's on Offer

- Salary of $85,000–$95,000, depending on experience
- Free accommodation
- Free meals
- Immediate commencement available
- Opportunity for a partner to secure onsite employment
- Long-term employment opportunity

About the Role

You'll take responsibility for the overall day-to-day operation of the business, including:

- Leading and supporting the team across the property
- Hands on bar, food service, accommodation and retail operations
- Managing guest services and accommodation reservations
- Staff training and rostering
- Stock control, ordering and fuel management
- Daily banking and financial reconciliations (Manual systems)
- Maintaining presentation and cleanliness standards throughout the property
- Ensuring compliance with liquor licensing, food safety and Workplace Health & Safety requirements

- Reporting directly to property owner

This is not a role where you'll simply supervise from a distance. You'll be actively involved in the daily operation, working alongside your team and stepping in wherever required.

Important: Be Prepared for the Heat

Remote Northern Territory conditions can be unbelievably hot, particularly during the warmer months. You must be comfortable living and working in an extreme-heat environment and understand the additional challenges that remote living can bring. This opportunity will suit someone who is genuinely prepared for the climate, the isolation and the practical realities of outback hospitality.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

- Strong hospitality experience in a remote roadhouse, country hotel or similar hospitality operation
- The ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions
- Strong leadership, communication and people management skills
- Experience overseeing accommodation, food and beverage, and retail operations
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- National Police Clearance
- Current manual driver's licence and your own reliable vehicle-Preferred
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Cooking or food service experience, highly regarded

If you're ready for a hands-on outback management role offering autonomy, variety, free accommodation and meals, and the prospect to make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
