About the role
We are seeking an Agronomist based in northern NSW to work with growers across the Condong, Broadwater and Harwood mill areas to improve cane productivity and farm profitability.
Employed and managed by SRA, you will work closely with Sunshine Sugar Agricultural Services, NSW CANEGROWERS and other local partners to deliver an agreed district work program and connect growers with SRA specialists.

- Connect research with practice. Bring SRA expertise to local agronomy, harvesting and farming-system issues, helping growers put proven improvements into practice.
- Support practical learning. Coordinate field demonstrations, local variety management and measurements that help growers make informed choices.
- Track progress and respond. Report clearly on outcomes and emerging issues, with a focus on practical changes on farm and safe field delivery.

About you
To succeed in this role, you will bring:

- Experience in agronomy, extension or applied agriculture, and the confidence to work directly with growers, harvesting operators and advisers.
- Ability to build trusted relationships, listen well and work constructively with industry partners who have different priorities.
- Experience explaining technical information clearly and helping growers make practical, commercially sound decisions.
- Ability to coordinate field demonstrations, field trials and extension activities, manage priorities independently and report progress clearly.
- A relevant agricultural qualification or equivalent substantial professional experience, a current driver licence and ability to travel regularly across northern NSW.
- Experience in sugarcane agronomy or a comparable tropical or subtropical cropping system would be an advantage.
